Priming
The Priming plan is an advance type of holding plan and involves building a prime – a long wall of your pieces, ideally 6 points in a row – for blocking the movement of your opponent’s pieces that are behind the wall. These pieces will remain trapped as long as you can maintain the prime, and can result in an interesting struggle for your opponent to move pieces around the backgammon board.
After having a prime, try hitting blots to block them behind it. The prime should be constructed anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your board, making it difficult for hit blots to go back into their homeboard and sometimes even to escape the bar.
Priming is also a very good tactic against a priming opponent. Try building a longer prime to get adventaged over him.
